Nathan Sawaya

Nathan Sawaya is an award-winning artist who creates contemporary art out of LEGO® bricks. His global touring exhibitions, The Art of the Brick, feature large-scale sculptures made only of the toy building blocks. His work is obsessively and painstakingly crafted and is both beautiful and playful.

In 2015, Sawaya was commissioned to recreate the iconic Academy Award® statuettes out of LEGO bricks for a performance of “Everything is Awesome” from The LEGO Movie, nominated for Best Song. During the production, the statuettes were handed out to the star-studded audience members, and instantly became highly sought-after collectibles.

This is the first time these official brick-built statuettes have been made available to the general public.
