Designed with Los Angeles-based company Poketo, this collection of merchandise celebrates Pride and the contributions members of the LGBTQIA+ community have made to film history.
Pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and visibility of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual people.
Hollywood is the home of the world’s first permitted Pride parade. On June 28, 1970, approximately 2,000 people gathered on McCadden Place in Los Angeles, marched north to Hollywood Blvd, and proceeded east towards Vine Street.
The Pride Flag or “Rainbow Flag” was adopted in 1978 and has undergone several updates over time. It is universally recognized as a symbol of LGBTQ identity and solidarity.
The colors used in this year’s Pride print include the most-updated flag, the Progress Flag, to include all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
