Georges Méliès Flipbook
THE MAGICIAN OF CINEMA
Georges Méliès (1861 – 1938) was a French illusionist, actor and film director who pioneered many technical and narrative developments, and became one of the most influential filmmakers in the early history of cinema.
Méliès was well known for the use of special effects, popularizing such techniques as stop-motion substitution, multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, hand-painted colour and dissolves. He was also one of the first filmmakers to use storyboards.
The flip book comes with an Augmented Reality feature, that you can visualize when scanning the front cover with your smartphone or tablet: a 3 minutes mini-documentary about Méliès's life, his background and his most outstanding work. To access the AR content, simply scan the QR code included on the slipcase, install the Artivive App, open it and view the flip book on your screen.
